Scanner and imager maker Hand Held Products announced last month it is being acquired by Honeywell International for approximately $390 million.
The acquisition is the second high-profile deal in the automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) market in recent years: last fall, wireless communications giant Motorola acquired AIDC leader Symbol Technologies.
In other AIDC news, printer supplier Printronix recently signed an agreement to be acquired by private equity firm Vector Capital for $108 million.
