Don’t miss the chance to attend one of the more than 70 on-the-show-floor educational seminars held this year at NA 2008. Located in Knowledge Center theaters at the opposite end of the I-X Center from the show entrance, each highly focused seminar lasts 45 minutes and is free to attendees.

The sessions run from 10:30 a.m to 4 p.m. today and tomorrow, and from 10:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

“The seminars are hosted by industry experts in material handling and logistics solutions,” says Robin Moody, manager of conference programs for the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA).

“It’s a great opportunity for attendees to be educated on current technologies,” she adds. “The sessions have become so popular with attendees, we’ve had to add an unprecedented sixth theater this year to accommodate the demand.”

Topics range from best practices reviews to maintenance to metrics. Detailed abstracts of each session, with three key take-aways for attendees, are included in both the show program and in a special seminar directory booklet. Only a few of the sessions run twice. Each theater holds 120 participants, and it’s first-come/first-served with no standing room allowed.

“We’ve added a new panel of green topics this year, given the increased interest in finding better ways to protect our environment,” adds Moody. “I anticipate a lot of interest and high attendance levels in

 those sessions.”

Green sessions include:

  • 129: A Green Supply Chain: A Win-Win Operationally and Environmentally today at 11:15 a.m. in Theater F
  • 116: Linking Reusable Packaging & Supply Chain Metrics today at 3:15 p.m. in Theater C
  • 112: Completing the Shipping Circle today at 4 p.m. in
  • Theater B
  • 213: Driving Sustainability with Plastic Reusable Packaging tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. in Theater C
  • 231: Building a Sustainable Supply Chain tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. in Theater F

If you are unable to attend a session, you will still have an opportunity to view its content, Moody says. As with previous exhibition years, all of the PowerPoint presentations will be captured in PDF format and posted to www.nashow.com after the exhibition concludes.

“This year, we’ve offered presenters the opportunity to also have the audio of their session recorded,” says Moody. “We’ll then merge their presentation and the accompanying audio together in a Flash file—which will also be posted to www.nashow.com—allowing viewers to get a better sense of the session they missed.”
