If adding a new materials handling book to your library is on your show agenda, be sure to drop by the NA Bookstore, located at Booth 1847 on the show floor. Browse the stacks between booth visits and seminars, and you’ll find the complete inventory of publications from the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA).“Every title offered in our online bookstore will be here and available for people to thumb through and investigate in person—and, of course, to purchase,” says Allan Howie, MHIA’s director of continuing education and professional development.
The bookstore offers a range of materials, from books and multimedia about the industry to standards, specifications and application guidelines.
“The end users who come to the trade show are particularly interested in systems, equipment and specifications,” says Howie. “If you want to learn more about the industry, the bookstore is definitely your top resource.”
As with previous shows, MHIA is partnering with the Warehousing Education & Research Council (WERC) and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) to fill the bookshelves with even more items. This partnership allows attendees to find publications on how to manage a distribution center and a supply chain, in addition to MHIA’s publications on managing material flow through the warehouse.
Also offered in the bookstore this year are copies of “Green to Gold: How Smart Companies Use Environmental Strategy to Innovate, Create Value, and Build Competitive Advantage,” the book co-authored by keynote speaker Andrew Winston. Winston will present this year’s keynote tomorrow from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. and will be signing copies of his book in the Green Pavilion later on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m.
“We expect that Winston’s book will be a bestseller at the show,” says Howie.
