Jervis B. Webb Company, a subsidiary of Daifuku Co. Ltd. (Booth 1602), demonstrated its expanded line of SmartCart automatic guided carts (AGC). Four new carts, guided by magnetic tape, are being shown.
“Our customers are constantly looking for ways to increase flexibility, while lowering their bottom line,” said marketing director Sarah Carlson. “We’ve added several new SmartCart models and options to meet those demands. Our new SmartCarts include an extremely low-cost Model 50, which makes automating warehouses and manufacturing facilities affordable for nearly every business.”
On display in addition to Model 50 is Model 300 tugger, the heavyweight equivalent of Model 50, which can transport loads up to 6,000 pounds. The Model 300 single conveyor can be used in conjunction with a roller conveyor to deliver loads to and from a stretch wrapper and palletizer. The SmartCart Model 300 counterbalanced fork does not require a roller conveyor and can place loads on the floor.
SmartCart Model 200 features a customized scissor lift; SmartLoader is an automatic trailer loading guided vehicle. SmartSteer technology enables AGCs to intentionally leave the physical path, perform programmed functions, then return in forward or reverse motion.
