Wireless asset management solutions provider I.D. Systems Inc. (Booth 1237) announced yesterday its acquisition of PowerKey, the industrial vehicle monitoring products division of International Electronics Inc. Subsequently, the company launched a new wireless product, PowerKeyPLUS, targeted at the entry-level segment of the industrial vehicle management market.
PowerKeyPLUS emphasizes vehicle access control, safety checklists and impact sensing—all critical to managing safety and maintenance issues. The standalone system is competitively priced, making it suitable for both large and small fleets.
“The entry-level PowerKey product can be upgraded to our Wireless Asset Net solution as customer needs evolve over time,” said Peter Fausel, I.D. Systems’ executive vice president of sales, marketing and customer support.
“The acquisition provides us with more solution options for prospects in the entry-level segment of the industrial vehicle management market, and consolidates our market leadership,” added Jeffrey Jagid, I.D. Systems’ chairman and CEO.
