More IT companies adopting RFID

Have you implemented an RFID solution 46% in 20008 say yes up from 34% last yearLured by a greater familiarity and affordability, more information technology companies are jumping on the RFID bandwagon, according to a survey by the Computing Technology Industry Association.

Of the 155 companies that responded, 46% said their customers have implemented one or more RFID solutions, either as pilot projects or production deployments. Most customers are using RFID for asset tracking, as well as personal identification, supply chain, retail marketing and closed-loop manufacturing. One respondent said they have been using RFID for a military contractor who was purchasing preprinted labels. The Department of Defense mandates use of RFID in their labels.
