Jervis B. Webb president and co-CEO retires

By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 11/1/2008

Jervis B. Webb Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Daifuku Co., announced the retirement of Susan M. Webb as president and co-CEO. She will continue to serve on the board of directors.

Ryuichi Kitaguchi will succeed Webb and will also continue as president of Daifuku America Corp.

Webb, the granddaughter of founder Jervis B. Webb, has led the company since 2003, when she succeeded her uncle George H. Webb. She guided the company through an expansion of its airport baggage handling system and automatic guided vehicle business lines, as well as the consolidation of its operating structure. In 2007, she directed the team which brought about the sale of the company by its founding family to Daifuku.
