Interlake Material Handling, Inc., Naperville, Ill., manufacturer and designer of storage rack, conveyor, controls, and order fulfillment solutions, has broken ground on a new rack manufacturing facility in Matamoros, Mexico.

The facility, the fourth rack plant for the company, will dedicate 145,000 square feet to production and office space. Racks manufactured at this location will serve markets in Mexico, South America, and the Southwest United States.

"The plant allows for competitive advantage in the Mexican market," says Michael J. O'Reilly, vice president, sales and marketing.

Manufacturing is scheduled to begin in June. The plant will employ 100 employees.
