FKI Logistex looks to Europe
Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 4/1/2001
Following 2 years of growth in the U.S., FKI Logistex is looking to Europe and beyond for new acquisitions and markets in the coming years.
"Here in North America, we've brought together a strong portfolio of companies offering best-of-breed components across the entire materials handling spectrum," says David J. Martin, group president of FKI Logistex, Danville, Ky.
"While we will continue to make strategic acquisitions in the U.S., we also believe this is an excellent business model that we can export to other parts of the world."
The first stop will be Europe, where FKI Logistex has begun the process of looking for acquisitions, says Martin.
"It took us about two years to put together our North American company," he adds. "We believe it will take that long to build a similar business model in Europe. Then, after a reasonable point in time, we will look to the Far East."
