Think & Do and Steeplechase become Entivity
Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 5/1/2001
Think & Do Software, Inc. has merged with Steeplechase Software (both located in Ann Arbor, Mich.), which was recently acquired by Schneider Electric. The combined PC-based automation and control software operation will form a key component of a new, independent company called Entivity, Inc.
The name Entivity reflects the company's mission – to enable customer productivity by leveraging Internet and information technologies in the design, deployment, and utilization of manufacturing and distribution systems.
To accomplish this goal, Entivity, also based in Ann Arbor, offers products and services that address project collaboration and automation software solutions. Entivity is working with partners to develop additional solutions in the areas of asset utilization and information connectivity throughout extended manufacturing enterprises.
The company recently released Think & Do Studio 6.2, which adds real-time peer-to-peer communications for Windows CE-based controllers, as well as provides support for additional O/O devices.
Entivity also launched Automation ProjectNet, which is the first complete and secure collaborative project management environment for the development and deployment of automation systems.
