Point-of-use inventory management on the rise
Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 6/1/2001
The market for automated point-of-use inventory and information systems management may still be young today at under $20 million, but it has the potential to double in a year.
That's according to Claude Hooton, executive vice president, marketing & corporate development for SupplyPro, Inc. (www.supplypro.com ), a leader in this rising technology.
Hooton says this technology allows the procurement process to be more efficient at the company level, allows visibility to the supply chain through inventory control, and enhances productivity because the product is always there. He also says users can see results in 30 days.
Expanding on the company's Web-enabled Supply-Agent cabinet, SupplyPro has added four new products to give users many more storage and security options.
The SupplyPod, Supply-Crib, SupplyLocker, and SupplyDispenser, eliminate stock-outs and overstocking of maintenance, repair, and organization (MRO) supplies through a completely automated supply tracking and replenishment system.
