MMH's supply chain Webcast lets you attend a seminar without leaving the office – for free.

By Martha Spizziri, Web Editor -- Modern Materials Handling, 6/1/2001

On June 19 at 2 p.m., Modern Materials Handling will host its second Webcast. This is a one-hour mini-seminar about the high-integrity supply chain that you can attend from your computer at work. Experts in the field of materials handling and supply chain management, including two end users, will explain the many advantages of having up-to-date, accurate information about your supply chain – in other words, a high-integrity supply chain.

The presenters will include Jim Apple, co-founder of consulting firm The Progress Group; Ron Riggin, vice president of MARC Global Systems; Jim Morgan of USCO Logistics' Dedicated Logistics Division; and Jim Harbonson, director, global sales operations, Americas region, for Philips Semiconductors. MMH's editorial director, Gary Forger will host. MARC Global Systems is the sponsor of the Webcast.

We feel these Webcasts make it easy for you to learn about new software and ways to improve operations at your company. As an attendee of our first Webcast, Whirlpool process manager Cathy Kruggel, said: "It was worth an hour's time. I was able to get the information without having to travel somewhere to a half-day meeting." Like an in-person event, the Webcast allows you to ask questions of the presenters. Unlike most in-person seminars it's free and it doesn't take you away from the office.

Carl Rowoldt, manager of logistics technical services for Abbot Laboratories, also attended our first Webcast because he was looking to upgrade an existing warehouse management system. "I learned a few capabilities of WMS I didn't know about before," he notes. And Mark Green, material manager for Lone Star Communications, said "I found it really helpful. We don't have a WMS now. It was helpful for deciding what I need and what the options out there are. It gave me a better idea of what I'm looking for."
