Paperless order fulfillment

The PickDirector paperless order fulfillment system combines proprietary rack and modular software for operational flexibility that accommodates changing product mixes, seasonal variations, and throughput growth. As product volume changes, the space devoted in the rack to each stock keeping unit can be enlarged or reduced in seconds simply by removing and/or relocating the detachable display face at each slot location. The display plugs into a continuous, self-sealing power rail that runs the length of the rack. Four different display face options are available. There are no cables or wires to move or re-attach when display faces are moved. The software's modules are fully integrated and communicate with each other, making re-configuration simple.

A comprehensive software program, BarControl Enterprise Manager (BEM), manages assets, equipment, and inventory. It provides access to authorized users of critical information over the Internet. BEM provides an end-to-end solution, and is comprised of over 27 plug-and-play modules, each of which can be operated independently on the same system, or in conjunction with each other as required. The system is also available under the application service provider model with the supplier hosting the software on dedicated servers. Optional modules include warehouse management/order fulfillment, fixed asset-tracking, and consumable/non-consumable goods tracking.

Improve sortation throughput

The S-3000E tilt-tray sorter provides improved throughput, does not use proprietary control hardware, and features an adjustable tilting mechanism. Potential applications include mail-order catalog, retail, and e-commerce orders as well as postal and courier distribution. A streamlined design that incorporates banked curves in the rail configuration allows the unit to move parcels at 3 meters/second. The sorter also features a new, electrically powered tray tilting mechanism powered by its own motor.

Read bar codes from an overhead crane

The video-based OptiCode bar code reader with optional pan/tilt/zoom positioner can be crane-mounted to read bar code tags on shop floor products at distances to 50 feet. A good read indication appears in the monitor screen when the bar code is properly presented in the camera's field of view. The joystick trigger is then pressed to capture the read value and upload the resultant data to user controls via RS-232c serial link.
