Siemens completes Mannesmann Dematic acquisition

Siemens completed its acquisition of Mannesmann Dematic and its subsidiaries, Rapistan Systems (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and Demag Cranes and Components (Cleveland, Ohio), last month and formed a new company, Siemens Dematic Corp.
The new company merges Mannesmann Dematic and its subsidiaries with Siemens Production and Logistics Group to become the world's largest supplier of materials handling and logistics automation systems with annual sales of $4.2 billion. Siemens Dematic will offer end-to-end supply chain solutions for distribution, manufacturing, postal and freight, and airport operations.
Siemens Dematic will consist of five divisions. The former Rapistan Systems organization becomes part of the Material Handling Automation Division. The other four divisions are: Postal Automation, Electronics Assembly Systems, Demag Cranes and Components, and Demag Mobile Cranes.
