AL Pallet introduces new aluminum pallet

The pallet features a patented design that provides weight carrying capacities similar to wood pallets in a much lighter, customizable pallet.

AL Pallet USA (Booth 4547) introduced a new aluminum pallet at a press conference Monday. The pallet features a patented design that provides weight carrying capacities similar to wood pallets in a much lighter, customizable pallet.

“The technology was designed to compete directly with wood pallets and is especially suitable for closed-loop systems or the one-way air logistics market where the weight of the pallet has a significant impact on shipping costs,” said Young Lee, executive director. A typical air freight pallet by AL weighs around 9 pounds, Lee added. The lightweight pallets are also preferred by beverage companies, which are able to transport more product on each weight-limited truck.

Developed in Korea, the AL Pallet Co., Ltd., is ISO 14001 and 9001 certified and is the leader in manufacturing and selling aluminum pallets in the Korean market. There, the company sells directly to several large high-tech companies, including Samsung, Cingular/AT&T, LGE and Nokia.

ProMat 2011 will be held March 21 - 24, 2011 at McCormick Place South in Chicago. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry.
