CAPS launches new service center

The new Southern California Reusable Shipping Container Service Center will support and manage steady West Coast growth.

Container and Pooling Solutions (CAPS), headquartered in Livonia, Mich., has launched a new reusable shipping container service center in Southern California. In order to support a steady increase in West Coast customers requiring bulk liquid storage containers, CAPS has recently moved its California operations to a larger facility located in Norco, CA.

Since 1998, CAPS has served the automotive, general manufacturing, food, beverage, cosmetic and non-hazardous chemical markets, providing returnable shipping container rentals, in addition to tracking, cleaning and repair services to companies throughout the US, Canada and Mexico. In addition to its headquarters and flagship service center in Livonia, Mich., CAPS has several other service centers located throughout the United States.

“We are very excited about the launch of our new service center in Norco,” said Robert Wiedmaier, CAPS’ CEO. “With the rate of growth we’re experiencing on the West Coast, it has become increasingly clear this market requires a flexible, scalable operation to efficiently and effectively service our customers’ ever-changing supply chain demands.”

The new facility is primarily aimed at meeting the needs of liquid container rental, cleaning and repair. In addition, however, clients required CAPS to secure a warehouse meeting the most stringent food grade manufacturing standards to ensure compliance with all food and beverage industry guidelines.

“Our new larger CAPS’ facility is fully sourced with state-of-the-art cleaning, sanitizing and repair equipment,” said Ivan Waterbury, CAPS’ director of operations. “Additionally, our Norco Service Center team has years of returnable container cleaning and processing experience, guaranteeing CAPS’ customers will experience the same quality of service that meets the rigorous cleaning standards customers have come to expect and demand.”
