Crown Equipment earns International Forklift Truck of the Year Award for forklift truck solutions

German Engineering Federation recognizes InfoLink fleet management system.

Crown Equipment Corporation, one of the world’s largest material handling companies, today announced that it won one of four prestigious International Forklift Truck of the Year (IFOY) Awards, taking first place honors in the Forklift Truck Solutions category.

The IFOY Award program is sponsored by the German Engineering Federation (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau e.V. – VDMA) to recognize the year’s best forklift trucks and solutions. Entries are judged by a jury of international trade journalists.

Crown’s system solution for United Kingdom-based customer Spicers, which is one of the UK’s largest wholesalers of stationery and office supplies, earned the IFOY Award in the Forklift Truck Solutions category. Judging for this category takes product application originality, innovation, customer benefits, sustainability and marketability into consideration. The jury recognized Crown’s InfoLink fleet management system and how it streamlined operations for Spicers.

The Spicers system utilizes a new fleet of InfoLink-equipped Crown forklifts that has allowed the company to reduce fleet maintenance and repair costs by 90%. The efficiencies provided by InfoLink enabled Spicers to reduce the size of its fleet by 40%. Additionally, the wireless InfoLink system provides real-time information that is used by Spicers to realize significant overall cost and time savings.
