Diesel prices fell for the third consecutive week, with the average price per gallon down 2.4 cents to $2.421, according to the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).
This follows a 3.7 decline last week, with this week’s average price standing as the lowest since June 1, 2009, when it was at $2.352 per gallon.
On an annual basis, the current average price of diesel is down $1.184.
Oil was trading at $44.82 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange as of this morning.
