Diesel prices head up for fourth straight week, reports EIA
With a 1.6 cent increase, the average price per gallon stands at $2.507. Over the last four weeks, the national diesel average has increased a cumulative 4.2 cents.
The Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported this week that the average price per gallon of diesel gasoline rose for the fourth straight week.
With a 1.6 cent increase, the average price per gallon stands at $2.507. Over the last four weeks, the national diesel average has increased a cumulative 4.2 cents. This gain follows gains over the last three weeks of 1.1 cents, 0.9 cents and 0.6 cents, respectively.
On an annual basis, this week’s price is up 12.8 cents.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil is currently trading at $46.34 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
The EIA’s Short-Term Energy Outlook is calling for WTI crude to average $48.95 in 2017 and $49.58 in 2018, with diesel pegged at $2.59 per gallon on 2017 and $2.71 per gallon in 2018.
