Innovation award finalist highlights updated order picking cart

One of the ProMat Innovation Awards finalists, New Age Industrial (Booth 2341), showcased how its #99664 order picking cart can be used to improve picking and putaway efficiency in distribution centers by as much as 25% at a press conference Wednesday.

The same aluminum cart can be rolled on casters or transported by an orderpicker forklift. By providing multiple levels of product access, the customizable cart enables new and more efficient paths through a facility. Shelves can be easily removed or adjusted on the fly, accommodating a variety of product dimensions.

According to sales engineer Phil Gottstine, the cart improves ergonomics for order selectors who no longer need to work solely from a floor-level pallet. Popular for returns and restocking, the cart is one third of the weight of traditional steel carts and handles as much as three times the typical capacity of a single standard pallet.
