LIBRI Invests in High-Efficiency Logistics

November 09, 2010

From my-world to Spiegel, from buecher.de to Langenscheidt, more than 4,000 retail shops now use the eCommerce platform Libri.de. in order to strengthen both their own competitiveness and that of their customers, as well as to continue the company’s recent successful development, Libri initiated a competition in 1999 to find the best ideas for the construction of a new logistics center.

The logistics system had to ensure that on-line orders were fulfilled and dispatched quickly and efficiently. Taking account of industry-specific factors in the book wholesale trade - such as, for example, the requirements for extremely high flexibility to adapt to market changes, a high level of availability, fast throughput times, error-free order picking and minimization of unit handling costs - WITRON designed a highly economic solution, which was ultimately selected and implemented as a new distribution center in Bad Hersfeld.
