Lift Trucks: Jonathan Dawley named president of Hyster Distribution

In his newly appointed role as president of Hyster Distribution, Dawley is responsible for the health and output of the Hyster dealer network throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Hyster Company recently named Jonathan Dawley president of Hyster Distribution.

Dawley came to NACCO Materials Handling Group, Inc. (NMHG), manufacturer of Yale and Hyster brand lift trucks, in September of 2005 as a regional manager in the Aftermarket business unit of Yale Materials Handling Corporation. Prior to joining NMHG, Dawley held numerous positions related to marketing, communications and management consulting in the automotive industry.

Dawley was named manager of NMHG Aftermarket business development in 2006 and moved to NMHG’s Americas Headquarters in Greenville, N.C. Two years later, Dawley became director of marketing. Less than one year later, in 2009, he was promoted to vice president of marketing for NMHG.

In his newly appointed role as president of Hyster Distribution, Dawley is responsible for the health and output of the Hyster dealer network throughout the U.S. and Canada.

“My objective is to deliver maximum customer satisfaction by fielding the best dealer network in the industry,” says Dawley. “Strong dealers can invest in product, tools and people that will deliver on customer expectations. Hyster tends to be deployed in the toughest applications as we have a legacy of durable and purpose-built equipment. Our organization is driving to sustain this brand recognition while building on an area close to most lift truck buyers today – low total cost of operations. Hyster is one of the few providers that can offer a customer true dock-to-stock capability. We are proud of our product line breadth, but it is this ability to drive down operating cost that interests many buyers in these times.”

Dawley received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Baker College in Auburn Hills, Mich. He resides in Greenville, N.C., with his wife and three daughters. Aside from work and family, Dawley’s interests include motorcycle and automobile racing. He is also devoted to supporting his local church.
