Lift Trucks: Select Equipment announces Forklift Safety Pro

Lift truck distributor releases OSHA Daily Inspection app for Apple’s iPhone, iPad, iPad Touch

Select Equipment announced the launch of Forklift Safety Pro, the first Forklift Daily Inspection Mobile Application for Apple’s iOS platform to run on iPhone, iPod, iPad. A version for Google’s Android operating system will be launched shortly.

Forklift Safety Pro allows lift truck operators to complete their daily or pre-shift safety inspections electronically, using their Apple mobile device. The completed inspection reports are then wirelessly transmitted to the email address of your choosing, typically a supervisor or dedicated inspection form repository.

According to Dale Verseput, Select Equipment’s Director of Sales, “The daily and pre-shift inspection reports, as required by OSHA, really lend themselves to the portability of a mobile application. With Forklift Safety Pro, the employer has an inspection report which is Date/Time Stamped, is secure and durable, and can be archived in a paperless format.”

Other features of the app include a daily safety question, a counter which lets the operator know how many days are left before he or she is required to be “re-certified”, and if needed, an OSHA incident report form, a service request form, and an unsafe vehicle reporting form. The App is sold on Apple’s iTunes and App Store for $4.99.

Verseput continues, “For operators who are dedicated to driving the same unit each day, they can store their default truck specs in the app to speed up their inspection time even further. Piles of illegible inspection forms and their requisite folders or notebooks are also eliminated.”

Operators also have the ability to store their local lift truck service provider’s contact information in the “Settings” panel for quick access. Several enhancements and additional features are also planned for the near future which will come free of charge to purchasers as downloadable “Updates”.

Madison Allen, Select Equipment’s Vice President of Sales commented “We are very excited about bringing mobile technology to the business of material handling, and this is just a first step.”

Select Equipment Sales, Inc. is a Southern California lift truck distributor representing several world-class manufacturers. Headquartered in Buena Park, CA, they have a 43 year history of bringing innovation and unique solutions to the challenges of efficient material handling.
