Colson Caster Corporation (Booth 1973) has a new caster line—the L-Series—that targets the need for a lower cost caster suitable for lighter-duty applications.

With load capacity up to 150 pounds per caster, the L Series can be suitable for applications such as picking carts or mobile storage carts in distribution or manufacturing, said Chuck Harris, engineering manager for Colson. The casters are made from low-carbon steel and thermoplastic material, come in multiple wheel diameters, and can be attached to carts in various ways. According to Harris, they are a long lasting and flexible choice for light duty. “You need to match the caster to the load, while ensuring that caster meets safety and durability needs,” he said.

Colson was also showcasing the Trans-forma wheel, which is made from recyclable materials. According to Harris, the design and materials in the Trans-forma wheel also make it an easier wheel to recycle at end of life.

ProMat 2011 will be held March 21 - 24, 2011 at McCormick Place South in Chicago. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry.
