Manufacturing Day event in Reading, Pa., to include more than 20 local manufacturers

Greater Reading Economic Partnership is coordinating the event at the Schmidt Training and Technology Center at Reading Area Community College.


Having participated since the inception of Manufacturing Day, the Greater Reading Economic Partnership is to host the community’s first Berks Manufacturing Day.

Manufacturing Day is a nationwide event aiming to bring awareness to training and careers in the manufacturing industry.

On October 3, from 8 a.m. to noon, the event will take place at the Reading Area Community College’s Schmidt Training and Technology Center. An informal meet and greet with more than 20 local manufacturing companies is scheduled for 8 to 11, and facility tours will run from 9:30 to noon at America Crane, Brentwood Industries, Cambridge-Lee Industries, Remcon Plastics and East Penn Manufacturing. In addition to those companies, event partners include:

● Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania
● Carpenter
● Exeter School District
● Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce & Industry
● RACC - Schmidt Training & Technology Center
● Reading Plastic Fabricators
● Berks County Workforce Investment Board

Free parking is available at RACC parking garage, with entrances located on Washington Street and Front Street.
