Matthews Automation Solutions (Booth S1023) showcased both proven and new systems in a press conference on Monday.
In addition to the new ZoneLinkTC controller for motor-driven roller (MDR) conveyors from Holjeron that is easily configured with minimal human intervention and new put wall illumination and touchless task confirmation functions for Lightning Pick’s LP Put Walls, marketing manager Joe Pelej discussed Pyramid’s new Continuous Intelligent Operations (CIO) software and control solutions.
“As a comprehensive provider of fulfillment solutions, Matthews is continuously creating new ways to energize the live supply chain and develop new ways to address omni-channel and e-commerce distribution challenges,” he said. “The live demo of the CIO-driven automated order finishing line with MDR conveyor and print-and-apply labeling is just a small part of how our solutions synergize complex, previously silo-ed automation throughout a facility, end-to-end.”
Pelej also pointed out a mobile robot navigating with laser controls from Guidance Automation (Booth S2481), and discussed RAF Technology’s symbol and character recognition software and sorting systems for postal handling—both recent Matthews’ acquisitions—as further moves to deliver solutions that meet the needs of direct-to-consumer operations.
