MHI to honor industry professional with Face of the Supply Chain Award at Modex 2016

On Wednesday night at Modex 2016, at MHI’s Industry Night event, MHI will honor a supply chain professional with the new Face of the Supply Chain Award. The winner will have demonstrated the hard work, creative thinking and commitment to innovation that it takes to succeed in the industry. Finalists were selected from entries submitted to the www.iWorkInTheSupplyChain.com Website.

The Website was launched in January, as part of MHI’s new #iWorkInTheSupplyChain awareness campaign that promotes manufacturing and supply chain as an innovative and rewarding career choice. Through both a hashtag for use on social media sites such as Twitter, and an interactive, blog-based content on the site, the goal is to connect, engage and inspire next-generation workers to pursue careers in our field, as well as to change the perception of jobs in the industry, said George Prest, CEO of MHI.

“Because supply chains work behind the scenes, you only hear about them when there is a disruption,” he added. “We, as an industry, have to do a better job communicating the amazing and rewarding career opportunities available. That’s the goal of this campaign.”

Initially launched with a video that shares the unique, first-person stories of a variety of manufacturing and supply chain professionals, the site welcomes more submissions. MHI invites persons in the manufacturing, logistics and supply chain fields to share their story, upload videos and browse the profiles and insights of others already posted on the Website.

Further, industry professionals are encouraged to use social media to spread the word via Tweets, pictures, messages and videos marked with the #iWorkInTheSupplyChain hashtag.

Modex 2016 is scheduled to be held April 4-7, 2016 in Atlanta’s Georgia World Conference Center. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry. Modern’s complete Modex coverage.
