In a press conference, topVOX (Booth 2115) gave voice to the new features and benefits of Lydia, the speech engine that drives the company’s customized voice system.

Voice technology is not new to the market, admitted Marceline Absil, VP of marketing and sales, but what is new is the is the system’s ability to keep the worker situated and in direct contact with supervisor in the event of an unexpected occurrence like a spill or a shortage.

In addition, the system has a translation function that allows a person to speak into it in one language and have the message automatically translated and received in another language—another feature that overcomes the barriers of effective communication and keeps people connected.

Modex 2012 is scheduled to be held February 6-9, 2012 in Atlanta’s Georgia World Congress Center. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry. Modern’s complete Modex 2012 coverage.
