With the continual expansion of the global economy—and the supply chain reach required to support it—Modex 2014 expects more than 1,500 attendees from nearly 100 countries.
The largest groups of registrants represent Canada, China, Brazil, Chile, the United Kingdom, Germany, France and the Netherlands, according to Tom Carbott, senior vice president of exhibitions at show sponsor MHI.
“The show itself has nearly 70 exhibitors with internationally located headquarters, so attendees can expect to hear many languages, other than English, spoken on the show floor,” he said.
No matter where they hail from, all foreign visitors will find a variety of amenities in the MHI-sponsored International Visitors Center, just a few steps away from the entrance to the show. The center offers a variety of services, including several translators to help answer questions in at least five languages: Chinese, French, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish. Also available are private meeting rooms, wi-fi Internet access and a lounge area with refreshments.
Further, three delegations are slated to attend. One is from China; the other two—Russia and Brazil—are part of the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC)’s International Buyer Select Event designation. The DOC designated Modex as a sanctioned event as part of its ongoing effort to improve and expand international trade ventures. International trade experts from the DOC will be available at Modex to answer questions about licensing, joint ventures, agency distribution agreements and import-export opportunities.
Additionally, the International Matchmaker Program will help foreign attendees maximize personal contacts with exhibitor companies by matching product, country and type of business information with registration details. Powered by a database, this free service pairs exhibiting companies interested in exporting their products with international importers. Personalized results are available at the International Visitors Center.
Modex 2014 is scheduled to be held March 17-20, 2014 in Atlanta’s Georgia World Conference Center. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry. Modern’s complete Modex 2014 coverage.
