Modex 2016: Get funky at industry night with the Blues Brothers Revue

Join MHI’s staff and Board of Governors at Industry Night on Wednesday, April 6 from 4:30 – 7 p.m., in Hall B’s Thomas Murphy Ballroom on Level 5 of the Georgia World Congress Center.

Join MHI’s staff and Board of Governors at Industry Night on Wednesday, April 6 from 4:30 – 7 p.m., in Hall B’s Thomas Murphy Ballroom on Level 5 of the Georgia World Congress Center. Tickets are $50 per guest, pre-paid at Modex Attendee Registration, with a portion of ticket sales will be donated to the Material Handling Education Foundation Inc. (MHEFI).

“The past two Modex Industry Nights have been at the Georgia Aquarium, and we wanted to do something more networking focused this year,” said George Prest, CEO of MHI.

Also new this year, added Prest, everyone in attendance at Industry Night is eligible for a door prize drawing to win a Porche Cayman sports car, a tie-in to the newly opened Porche Experience Center in Atlanta.

“We’ll be drawing four names, and each will receive a key,” he said. “The person with the key that unlocks the car wins it—therefore, you must be present to win.”

The evening will also feature the presentation of the 2016 Innovation Awards in three categories: Best New Innovation, Best Innovation of an Existing Product and (new this year) Best Information Technology (IT) Innovation. Separately, MHI will honor a supply chain professional with the new Face of the Supply Chain Award. The winner, selected from entries submitted to the http://www.iworkinthesupplychain.com Website, will epitomize the hard work, creative thinking and commitment to innovation that it takes to succeed in the industry.

In addition to networking and the chance to win a Porche, participants will enjoy beer, wine and heavy hors d’oeuvres, as well as special entertainment by The Blues Brothers Soul Band Rhythm and Blues Tribute. The Official Blues Brothers Revue duo is the only one sanctioned by Dan Aykroyd and Judith Belushi to don the official hat and sunglasses and walk in the legendary footsteps of Jake and Elwood Blues, Prest noted.

Discovered in Las Vegas, performers Wayne Catania and Kieron Lafferty capture the infectious humor and unbridled spirit of the Blues Brothers. The duo is backed by a powerhouse band, delivering a show that combines the comedy and hits from the original movie, while paying homage to blues, gospel and soul music. Hear all of The Blues Brothers classics such as Soul Man, Rubber Biscuit, Sweet Home Chicago, Rawhide and Gimme Some Lovin’.

Modex 2016 is scheduled to be held April 4-7, 2016 in Atlanta’s Georgia World Conference Center. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry. Modern’s complete Modex coverage.
