From its beginning as a lunch gathering of about 400 logistics and supply chain professionals a decade ago, the Georgia Logistics Summit has grown to become one of the premier logistics and supply chain events in the county.
“The summit has evolved quite a bit over the last 10 years,” said Emily Butler, senior project manager at the Center of Innovation for Logistics in the Georgia Department of Economic Development, which puts on the event. “It now hosts more than 1,500 attendees annually and attracts international attendees. The content and programming has also expanded to incorporate keynote speakers from companies like Walmart, Kimberly-Clark and The Home Depot.”
Butler added that partnering with MHI to co-locate the event at Modex 2018 was a “no-brainer.”
“Considering the number of mutual sponsors and attendees we both attract, co-locating with Modex lets us offer one of the most comprehensive and complete conferences and tradeshows in the world—and to our attendees,” Butler said.
Summit attendees can expect a wide cross sample of content covering nearly every aspect of the supply chain. In addition to a keynote address today from Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, the heads of transportation-related government entities like the Georgia Ports Authority and the Georgia Department of Transportation will speak.
Attendees will also learn about the latest best practices, global economic trends and participate in multiple breakout sessions, Butler added.
