New line of rapid chargers, expanded presence for Douglas Battery

Douglas Battery (Booth 2309) made use of its larger space at ProMat to feature its full range of batteries and chargers, as well as its new charger product line.

“We have increased our show presence by more than 350% this year to showcase our full line of products designed to meet the high power demands of today’s industrial equipment, including forklifts, walkies and automatic guided vehicles,” explained Brian Faust, GM of Douglas Battery.

The recently launched charger product line is called Raptor Rapid charger. The product is a high frequency, high speed, fully automatic modular charger that can eliminate the need for battery changes. Featuring high energy-efficiency and a high power factor, the Raptor Rapid charger reduces operating costs while improving productivity, said Faust. It is well suited to multiple shift operations looking to reduce spend on batteries, fleet size, as well as operations looking to maximize space by having a smaller footprint charging station instead of a large battery charging room, he added.

Also being showcased were products including the Legacy Neo HF charger, a compact, high efficiency charger that is ideal for operations in which space is limited, as well as the Legacy Insight HF charger, which is said to deliver a higher power factor and greater efficiency than conventional chargers. The Insight HF charger is capable of opportunity charge and can automatically charge batteries of various voltages and capacities.

Visitors also will be able to see a demonstration of the newly enhanced Douglas DataTrac battery monitoring system, which collects data about the battery’s usage, charge return, water level, temperature and equalization. The enhanced design features a smaller, space-saving footprint and more robust, UL-compliant packaging.

ProMat 2015 is scheduled to be held March 23-26, 2014 at Chicago’s McCormick Place. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry. Modern’s complete ProMat 2015 coverage.
