Stonco Lighting and its partners Cambridge Heating, De Lage Landen and Energy Tax Savers have teamed up to establish The Stonco Warehouse Energy Program. This program, believed to be the first of its kind, delivers total and immediate warehouse energy optimization from a single source. The program includes energy efficient heating and lighting products along with 100% financing, tax knowledge and certified industry experience.
The goal is to assist warehouse and DC operations reap substantial tax savings from $1.20 to $1.80 per sq. ft. without out out-of-pocket expenses. The tax deductions can be significant, but according to Ken Williams, director of marketing at Cambridge Engineering, but the process is complex.
“We are a heating manufacturer and know our equipment would qualify for tax deductions, but the government made it complicated,” said Williams. “It took over a year, but we connected the dots, did the modeling and created a combined approach for end users.”
This approach guides end users to energy efficient lighting and heating systems for warehouses and distribution centers while also assisting with financing and federal tax deductions.
“When you get right down to the nuts and bolts of it, saving energy saves operating costs and saves the planet,” said Williams. “It’s a win/win.”
A number of blogs back, Modern’s executive editor Bob Trebilcock wrote about the green supply chain and the convergence of other disciplines with the materials handling industry. One of the things he focused on was the Stonco Warehouse Energy Program.
