Matthews Marking and Fulfillment Systems (Booth 7609) highlighted its new rugged MW Series pick-to-light module at a Tuesday press conference. The module offers increased performance, flexibility, durability and power efficiency to new or existing pick- to-light users, said Paul Jensen, division president of Matthews Marking and Fulfillment Systems.
Easy to install and reconfigure to accommodate changing pick faces, the duct-channel-style MW Series modules snap into and out of heavy-duty extruded aluminum open channels that secure to existing rack or shelves. The device’s enhanced memory capacity allows it to store multiple messages that can be broadcast across its alphanumeric display. This feature allows pickers to scroll through order number, lot number, special instructions and other information quickly, as the device doesn’t have to pull messages from the picking system server.
“The MW Series offers increased flexibility,” said Jensen. “It’s very easy to reconfigure and move the modules.” The series also works well with different fixtures, including pipe-shaped fixtures used in manufacturing settings, said Jensen, which adds to its flexibility.
Ideal for picking in environments with low ambient light levels, or operations prone to generating dust and dirt, the fully enclosed MW module features a black finish that heightens visual contrast in darkened aisles. This makes it easier for pickers to read and verify pick instructions.
