Packaging: Expo Pack Guadalajara off to strong start

PMMI, the owner and producer of EXPO PACK Guadalajara (Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico; February 27–March 1, 2013), reports sales for the debut edition of the trade show have reached 95 percent of the exhibitor goal and 66 percent of the show floor goal.
PMMI also owns and produces EXPO PACK México, PACK EXPO International and PACK EXPO Las Vegas, and announced the new event during opening ceremonies at EXPO PACK México 2012 last month.
“We’re very happy to see the exhibitors’ enthusiasm — it’s very much in line with what we learned from our market research,” says Charles D. Yuska, president & CEO, PMMI. “Guadalajara, with its strong manufacturing sector, is an excellent location for a PACK EXPO show.”
Guadalajara is one of the largest cities in Mexico and the capital of the state of Jalisco, which is Mexico’s leading producer of electronics, telecommunication equipment, chocolate and confectionery, ladies footwear, agave/tequila, leather, milk, poultry, pork, eggs and agricultural products.
“We’re taking the show to the attendees. EXPO PACK Guadalajara will be a world-class event, just as EXPO PACK México is,” Yuska says.
PMMI, which has owned and produced EXPO PACK México since 1993 as a partner, stepping up as sole owner in 2005, has recently strengthened its commitment to Mexican packagers and processors in other ways. In addition to launching PMT en Español, an online, Spanish-language version of PMT magazine, PMMI has expanded membership in all categories to qualified Mexican companies.
