Packaging: Sealed Air makes Fortune’s most admired list

Sealed Air announced today that it has been recognized as the most admired company in its industry and one of the most admired companies globally for innovation and social responsibility, according to Fortune Magazine’s annual survey published last week.

Sealed Air announced today that it has been recognized as the most admired company in its industry and one of the most admired companies globally for innovation and social responsibility, according to Fortune Magazine’s annual survey published last week.

The annual “Fortune Most Admired Companies” survey ranked Sealed Air first among 10 companies in the packaging industry, including the top ranking in seven of the nine categories in which companies are evaluated – innovation, people management, social responsibility, management quality, financial soundness, quality of products and global competitiveness.

Sealed Air also ranked in the Top 10 in both the innovation and social responsibility categories for all companies surveyed worldwide. In addition, Sealed Air was ranked first among the most admired companies in New Jersey.

“To receive the recognition of our peers reaffirms the dedication our 26,300 employees have around the world to our core operating priorities which incorporate being innovative and socially responsible,” said William V. Hickey, President and CEO, Sealed Air. “We have committed our company to a path of invention to help increase access to food, keep it fresh, safe and secure for people around the world; to safeguard human health; and to protect the valuable goods we ship every day. Through our SmartLife initiative, we are also providing solutions that enhance sustainability across the supply chain by helping to optimize the use of raw materials, conserve energy and water, reduce waste and provide convenience.”

Fortune’s survey of the World’s Most Admired Companies is conducted annually by The Hay Group, a global consulting firm. The study surveys approximately 15,000 top executives, directors and financial analysts around the world to identify companies with the strongest reputations among the Fortune 1000, non-U.S. companies in the Fortune Global 500, and top foreign companies operating in the United States.
