Pallets: iGPS names Richard DiStasio CEO

Supply chain veteran assumes leadership of the pallet company

Intelligent Global Pooling Systems (iGPS Company), operator of the world’s first pallet rental service to provide lightweight, 100 percent recyclable plastic pallets with embedded radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, announced today that Richard “Dick” DiStasio has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the company. DiStasio brings over 30 years of executive-level experience at leading manufacturing, distribution and service companies, with both domestic and international scope.

“I am thrilled to be joining iGPS, a company that is leading an exciting paradigm shift in the world’s supply chain,” DiStasio said. “iGPS’ innovative pallet and its associated tracking and tracing capabilities are truly revolutionizing how products are being shipped in North America. The marketplace’s enthusiastic response to iGPS—and its world-class customers—is a tremendous base from which to accelerate the company’s growth.”

Among his prior positions, DiStasio served as President, CEO and Chairman of USF Corporation, formerly known as USFreightways Corporation, and CEO for Global Operations of Martin-Brower Company, the world’s largest distributor of products to McDonald’s Corporation. Prior to joining iGPS, DiStasio served as an Operating Advisor to Arbor Investments, a Chicago-based private equity firm.
