Polonez Parcel Service teams up with UPS to leverage UPS Access Points

Latest Material Handling News

Global freight transportation and logistics titan UPS and Polonez Parcel Service, a consumer-to-consumer consolidate shipping service into Poland and other countries, said today that they have teamed up in an agreement that enables United States-based Polonez Parcel Service customers the ability to leverage “an easy parcel drop-off point” through the more than 8,700 UPS Access Points, which includes 5,000 The UPS Store locations.

Polonez said that its customers can more easily do business online through its website, polonezparcelservice.com, and subsequently drop off their pre-paid shipments at United States-based Access Point locations. These locations are comprised of places such as The UPS Store, dry cleaners, hardware stores, convenience stores, and other neighborhood retail establishments.

Polonez Parcel Service CEO Tom Nightingale told LM that Polonez was interested in increasing the reach and accessibility of its network, noting that UPS’s Access Points provided an ideal platform for its to be close to its customers, regardless of where they are in the country.

While UPS and Polonez cannot discuss the details of its business development process, he said both organizations are always looking for creative opportunities to provide value for their customers.

“With the addition of over 8700 UPS Access Point and The UPS Store locations to our current Authorized Shipping Outlet network, it makes Polonez Parcel Service the most convenient way to ship consumer-to-consumer packages to over 30 countries,” he explained.

Polonez Parcel Service has the largest network of Authorized Shipping Outlets of any deferred carrier to Europe, according to Nightingale.  With over 275 Authorized Shipping Outlets across the United States, he said Polonez has had part of these businesses and their communities for more than 35 years.

“The benefits for our customers include increased accessibility to the Polonez Parcel Service’s strong consumer-to-consumer shipping network from the U.S. to Europe, the convenience of having a UPS Access point within a few miles of most of the US population, and the confidence of having the trusted UPS and Polonez Parcel Service network to safely transport their packages,” he said.

UPS Chief Sales and Solutions Officer Kate Gutmann that UPS’s Access Point locations – comprising nearly 5,000 UPS Store retail outlets and thousands of independent retailers – provide industry-leading market coverage.

“We are pleased to help Polonez Parcel Service make connections with their customers in neighborhoods throughout the United States,” she said . “Our Access Points are a great complement to their consumer-to-consumer consolidated deferred international shipping service.”
