Australian technology firm Portalink (Booth 2115) introduced its transaction processing software (and new Charlotte sales office) to the U.S. market in a press conference on Tuesday.
The system—engineered specifically for business-to-business transactions between buyers and sellers—cuts out the costs associated with manual processing of orders and invoices, said Tim Pope, CEO.
“It’s a product we’ve developed for nine years, used by thousands of buyers and suppliers in Australia,” he said. “The technology allows suppliers selling to small- and mid-size buyers to benefit from smarter and more efficient processes currently enjoyed by larger users of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) networks.”
Portalink’s methodology converts paper purchase orders and invoices into an electronic version that can be processed automatically and accurately.
“By eliminating the associated manual entry, the system likewise eliminates the $78 per order cost resulting from high error rates and lost productivity,” Pope said.
