Pregis On Point app for protective packaging challenges

Pregis Corp.’s new On Point iPad app features robust information to help packagers make correct protective packaging decisions for their specific product requirements.

Pregis Corp.’s new On Point iPad app features robust information to help packagers make correct protective packaging decisions for their specific product requirements. The app also has tools to assist Pregis’ consultative sales staff and distribution partners to facilitate the process.

The application assessment tool uses a checklist model to improve data collection prior to recommending solutions. An application guide reviews the major protective packaging categories (cushioning, void fill, block and brace, surface protection and containment) and supports them with a chart matrix that lets users know which Pregis product is ideal for each requirement.

A solutions portfolio details Pregis’ systems offerings by category: inflatable void-fill, inflatable cushioning, paper packaging and foam-in-place. This section also provides product information on air cushioning, mailers and engineered and roll foam products.

Pregis, which offers products that minimize environmental impact, details those capabilities in a Sustainability Overview section. Additionally, the app includes a detailed “About Pregis” section as well as the company’s product catalogs.

Launched in early February, the Pregis On Point app has been successfully field-tested by the company’s sales team and distributor network for the past three months. Pregis partners can download the free app by visiting http://www.pregis.com/apps and completing the registration process.

“Our objective was to create an app that would simplify the protective packaging decision making process. The attractive graphic interface enables our distributors and their customers to quickly find solutions to their specific situation. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Daché Davidson, director of marketing, Pregis.
