Reducing back and shoulder injuries, as well as cutting the noise associated with hearing loss, are the goals of Caster Concepts’ (Booth 5244) new ergonomic line of caster wheels, rigs and polyurethane treads, explained Mike Kulka, national account manager in a press conference on Tuesday.
“Over-exertion is the leading cause of workplace injuries,” he said. “We offer a noise reduction caster to target hearing loss, the second leading cause of employee illness.”
Kulka highlighted the maintenance-free ErgoMaxx that minimizes the amount of force needed to turn or start a load rolling. Also showcased was the multi-wheeled TWERGO that requires 25% less initial push force to start moving a cart.
Southeast territory manager Zach Norkey demonstrated the company’s free online design tool, Caster Configurator. “The system generates a downloadable 2D/3D CAD model with detailed specs,” Norkey said. “We do a large volume of custom-engineered casters; this system speeds up our customers’ design process.”
