The Reusable Packaging Association (RPA) is teaming up with StopWaste Partnership to host a Use Reusables Workshop in Salt Lake City, UT on March 21.

The Reusable Packaging Association (RPA) is teaming up with StopWaste Partnership to host a Use Reusables Workshop in Salt Lake City, UT on March 21. Other participants in the workshop are the Utah College of Applied Technology, the Utah Manufacturers Association, and the Utah Department of Environmental Quality (UDEQ).

The content for the workshop is based on the RPA’s Reusable Packaging Curriculum Project that is being developed by the association’s Education Committee. The workshop is funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

“Educating businesses about the economic benefits of reusables is essential to increasing their adoption,” said Jerry Welcome, President, RPA. “This workshop is one of several educational platforms we have planned for 2012 to share our broad expertise and first-hand experience with reusables with end users.”

RPA Education Committee members Norm Kukuk of ORBIS Corporation and LeRoi Cochran of IFCO Systems will present at the workshop on behalf of the RPA. Topics covered at the workshop will include measuring the financial impact of reusables, steps for implementing reusables, an overview of available resources and much more. There will also be a panel discussion on reusable packaging applications with various users from the Salt Lake City area.
