Sealed Air today announced that the Sealed Air PakNatural loose fill solution is now included in the Material ConneXion Library, a global database of innovative materials utilized by professionals from various disciplines of design development.

The product, made from non-food, renewable materials and certified as biodegradable and compostable by three independent international organizations, was selected following a strict review process and upon receiving a majority vote from the Material ConneXion panel of experienced design and materials professionals.

“We’re pleased to join the Material ConneXion library after a thorough assessment by Material ConneXion’s experts,” said Mark Bourke, PakNatural Sales Development Manager for Sealed Air. “This endorsement of the environmental and performance characteristics of the Sealed Air PakNatural packaging solution provides validation of our efforts to continuously invent solutions that enable our customers to ship their products efficiently and reliably while minimizing environmental impact.”

PakNatural loose fill has been certified as a biodegradable and compostable material by international independent certification organizations including the U.S-based Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI), Germany-based DIN CERTCO and Belgium-based Vincotte.

In addition to its sustainable properties, PakNatural loosefill provides superior protection, produces less dust, has greater inherent strength over starch-based loose fill packaging and provides superior anti-static performance over expanded polystyrene products.

As a result of inclusion in the Material ConneXion packaging materials library, PakNatural samples will be available in the nine global Material ConneXion locations: New York, Bangkok, Beijing, Cologne, Daegu, Istanbul, Milan, Seoul and Shanghai. The product also will be included on the Material ConneXion online database found at http://www.materialconnexion.com.
