Markus Schmidt, senior vice president at Swisslog (Booth 4687) presented the intralogistics specialist’s latest warehouse automation innovations at a press conference on Tuesday. In its booth, company is demonstrating new picking technologies integrated with advanced robotics. The booth features a large, dynamic exhibit that showcases familiar goods-to-person technology, AutoStore, as well as a fully automated picking station and a new high-performance shuttle system.
Swisslog’s Automated Item Pick (AIP) is a fully automated picking station that teams humans with robots, enabling direct cooperation between man and machine, with no safety fence required. Swisslog has also developed a new shuttle technology that offers outstanding performance, flexibility and reliability.
Also this week, Swisslog announced the acquisition of Power Automation Systems (PAS), a California-based maker of pallet shuttle automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS). “Thanks to our various acquisitions, we’ve become a one-stop provider for the supply chain,” Schmidt said. “From the end of the production line, we take the ball and deliver distribution center solutions for our clients.”
