Stand-alone traffic management software, controller unveiled at AutoGuide

Sarah Carlson, VP of AutoGuide (Booth N835), showcased the newest version of AVINU traffic management software

In a press conference on Monday, Sarah Carlson, VP of AutoGuide (Booth N835), showcased the newest version of AVINU traffic management software that optimizes the automated equipment movement, including the company’s mobile robots and automatic guided vehicles (AGVs). Offered as a stand-alone product, its open architecture supports universal integration and provides in-depth reports about cycle times, battery levels and errors.

“Java-based AVINU 3.0 is one of the only traffic management systems in the market with open architecture. It integrates easily with any warehouse management and warehouse control systems (WMS/WCS), including homegrown,” said Carlson. “It also manages all moving equipment regardless of manufacturer.”
AutoGuide also launched a new wireless push button control that works with AVINU 3.0 to call and release AGVs. Durable, one device per AGV path can be mounted to a wall or forklift for plug-in power (or operate as a battery-operated handheld), replacing programmable logic controllers for job scheduling. Carlson also shared details about a planned high-capacity tugger AGV, the MAX U-2, capable of towing 15,000-pound loads and priced for a payback of a year or less.
