Swisslog announces modified management structure

Changes intended to strengthen customer focus and technological development.


Swisslog, part of the KUKA group, has announced a new management structure at Swisslog Americas and at a divisional level.

Effective September 1st, 2015, Christian Baur has assumed sole leadership of Swisslog’s warehouse and distribution solutions division. Baur’s main goals are to enhance customer focus and technological development, and, with the support of KUKA, lead Swisslog to become “an automation powerhouse.”

Volker Jungbluth, previously managing director of Swisslog Germany, will shift his focus to the ongoing conceptual and strategic development of Swisslog technologies as well as the Swisslog product and solutions portfolio. Effective September 1st, 2015 Jungbluth has assumed leadership of Swisslog’s new strategic research and development unit. This role makes use of his intralogistics and conceptual expertise. His tasks include identifying future challenges, developing innovative product ideas, and optimizing the Swisslog solutions portfolio to meet market and customer demands.

Nicholas Tripptree transitions to the Americas office from the Asia-Pacific region where he was previously responsible for the customer service group. “The team in Americas region is proud to have Mr. Tripptree with his track record of success in delivering seamless support,” said Markus Schmidt, senior vice president, Americas. “Ensuring experienced, top-notch employees in key customer support positions affirms commitment to quality service.”
