Swisslog, Intelligrated share details about strategic alliance

In a joint press conference held yesterday, Swisslog Logistics Inc. (Booth 2323) offered details about the strategic alliance the company has formed with Intelligrated (Booth 2903).

Markus Schmidt, senior vice president and head of North America for Swisslog, and Chris Cole, CEO of Intelligrated, spoke about their expectations for the partnership and the value it will bring to the companies’ customers.

Additionally, Swisslog announced a new order for the company’s AutoStore system, and an order for a frozen, automated warehouse installation in Europe.

AutoStore features a dense 3D grid of self-supporting bins moved to pick stations by a series of independAent robots. Ideal for high storage density and enhanced picking efficiency of small case, piece picked items, the fully automated system expands to accommodate changing demand patterns.

ProMat 2011 will be held March 21 - 24, 2011 at McCormick Place South in Chicago. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry.
