System Logistics (Booth 2912) has a split personality at ProMat this year, or at least its booth does. On one side, the company is demonstrating its vertical lift sequencer (a VLM). On the other side, its roller and modular plastic belt conveyor system is on display.
Together, the company offers a total materials handling solution for split-case picking technology that was designed keeping in mind the need to create mixed-SKU, store-ready pallets.
System Logistics president and CEO Tom Coyne said he is seeing the highest demand for mixed SKU pallets coming from the food and beverage sector.
“On the beverage side, this technology works for anything from liquor to dairy. And on the food side, it works as well for the producers as it does for the grocers,” he said.
According to Coyne, this is where the next level of technology headed. It’s the new arms race in the materials handling industry, he added.
ProMat 2011 will be held March 21 - 24, 2011 at McCormick Place South in Chicago. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry.
