Take one of three forklifts for a spin in the Big Lift / Big Joe Forklifts exhibit (Booth 3919), staged to simulate warehousing, distribution and retail operations. On display in the “Forklift Playground” are the E30 3,000-pound capacity electric pallet truck, the 2,200-pound capacity S22 stacker, and—making its debut—the new J1 Joey task-support vehicle.
“The Joey is engineered to handle 1,000 pounds total capacity to move more product up to heights above 16 feet,” explained Bill Pedriana, director of sales and marketing. “We designed it to combine the functionality of an elevated work platform, order picker and a tugger into a single, compact vehicle.”
With finger-tip controls integrated into the guardrails, the Joey can be driven at height to move from task to task, Pedriana added. Travel is powered by a high-efficiency AC drive motor programmable from the onboard LCD dash. It features a 31.5 x 20.5-inch front load tray and stowable rear tray, while a 180-degree articulating central front drive wheel enables tight turns in narrow aisles.
For safety, speed is automatically reduced when the lift is elevated, while a unitized steel frame and I-beam channel mast—located behind the operator—protect personnel and components from harm.
