U.S. News & World Report releases Supply Chain Management and Industrial Engineering rankings

U.S. News & World Report ranks Michigan State as the top school for Supply Chain Management and Georgia Tech first for Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering on this year's lists.


U.S. News & World Report just released the new 30th edition of its college rankings. Below are the top ten schools for Supply Chain Management and Industrial Engineering/Manufacturing.

1. Michigan State University
2. Massachusetts Institute of Technology
3. Arizona State University—​Tempe
4. University of Tennessee
5. Tie: Ohio State University & Pennsylvania State University
7. Carnegie Mellon University
8. University of Michigan
9. University of Maryland
10. Purdue University

Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering
Industrial/manufacturing engineering involves improved productivity and efficiency. These are the top undergraduate schools where the highest engineering degree offered is a doctorate.
1. Georgia Institute of Technology
2. University of Michigan
3. University of California—​Berkeley
4. Purdue University
5. Northwestern University
6. Virginia Tech
7. Pennsylvania State University
8. Stanford University
9. University of Wisconsin
10. Cornell University

The 2015 edition of Best Colleges includes data on nearly 1,800 schools nationwide. Eligible schools are ranked on up to 16 measures of academic excellence.

The college ranking categories are based upon the 2010 Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching classifications. The Carnegie classification system has been used by U.S. News since the first Best Colleges rankings in 1983, because they are accepted as the basis for classifying schools by most higher education researchers.
